How Board Equivalence Works in India
Under the guidelines formulated by the Ministry of Education, Government of India and the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), any school board established by an Act of Parliament (such as NIOS) or by an Act of a State Legislature is legally recognized as a statutory examination authority throughout the territory of India.
Grants parity with 10+2 certificates issued by CBSE/CISCE for admission to Bachelor degree courses in Indian universities.
The Council of Boards of School Education in India coordinates equivalence between member state and national boards.
Recognized boards satisfy qualification criteria for SSC, UPSC, Indian Army, Railways, and state civil services.
